Continuing with building my half alien thingies. I had actually done most of this couple of weeks ago, but my intention to finish it during weekend got postponed first by visiting my family that weekend and then visiting a friend of mine in the next.
This has probably been the hardest part in figuring out how the trias work. Their limbs aren't exactly something found on Earth in their exact form, and it took some work to get them attached to the body in a manner that made sense. Their hands and feet developed from the idea of radial symmetry, but evolution has differentiated the base.
They kick hard and can cause serious injury with their feet. Specially if they clamp their toes together to kick with the edges of their hoof-claws the impact can be lethal.
Also, the trias have a habit of wiggling their tail legs when they are nervous or feel really awkward. It's because they use the tail legs to move around when they are little they associate the movement with moving. It's kind of an automatical "I want to get away"-reaction.
I don't you quite understand how those legs would work, you cannot get a running pose like you have. These legs are not legs at all, they are arms. Also, splitting humerus in three places only make the animal have very weak arms.
Looks awesome, but one thing got my attention: Above the triple-bone-thing, the arms have three bones while the "legs" only have two. Did the lower two bones fuse and join over time or..?
