Few days ago I bought two sets of new pencils which I of course had to try out. This picture is made with Derwent Graphitint pencils. This is something that I like to call 'recycling ideas'. (Other people could call it 'repeating themselves', though) One of the advance works I did for different schools at the beginning of the summer was a poster where was a head of a wolf and a golden-looking text "Minun maailmani -maailma suden silmin" ("My world -the world through the eyes of wolf") and the eye of the wolf reflecting a sight of a forest.
I used the same idea, with the head of a wolf (though this time a front view) whose eye reflects its surroundings. Though this time I replaced the text with a background (Graphitint pencils reveal their true color with water, so I had to test it. ^^"). Looks pretty good, doesn't it? I spent a lots of time in this one, and I really like how it turned out. I'm beginning to learn how to draw wolves! And backgrounds! Yay!
Derwent Graphitint pencils (plus Derwent Studio colors, for the eye) on a gray A4 paper.
You did an awesome job on its eye, and the fur affect is brilliant. I wish I were that good ; ; -Envy'd- I like the BG concept, too~ The coloring on it is, too, beautiful. Really nice!
Heei, siullakin on Graphitintit.
Suosittelen kokeilemaan.

This is just so stunning! I mean very beautiful indeed. I love the detial in this so much. Also the coloring and texture is beyond perfect. I also love the way you did the face. Your canid facial structure is just to amazing and perfect, and the eye... I am in love with the eye. I also love how you blended the fur and grass. Beautiful job.
