Why did nobody tell me how fun Gravelers are to draw? Anyway. More Nuzlocke adventures ahoy.
I have no idea if the bike shop owner or Lucass dad have actual official designs, I was too lazy to go check for reference. Their designs are made up by yours truly. Shame the bikeshopman doesnt have a bigger role in the games, Id love to cameo him again sometime. (The tattoo he has is a flaming bike wheel with clefairy wings.)
Wyrm left on step-maternity leave and made me feel bad for putting her to PC (Im gonna miss drawing her. Those shapes!), but on a lighter note, the team now has a new hopefully permanent member. Ive never trained a ponyta before. This should be interesting.
On names again... Burghess, well, you remember how Shale was named after the Burghess-Shale fossil site? Yeah. The creativity is outstanding here. Päike (or Paike actually in the game since the stupid lack of umlauts) as far as I've understood is Estonian and should mean sun or sunshine. And it sounds adorable (to me at least). The clefairy reminded me of Persephone of the Greek mythology, but I named her using the Roman version of the character's name since Persephone is way too easy to shorten as Perse, which is a Finnish word for ass. (The bodypart, not the animal, I'm afraid). And I've always wanted a zubat named Igor, but unfortunately I had forgotten I had intended to use the name when Roger was caught. And Nova came from "ohgeesh, this needs a name now. Whattodowhattodo... It's newborn, so new, right? That's nova in Latin okay goodenough".
Paike is so scrawny. Spirited though. I'm sure good grinding will beef her up. I hope you're careful with her--Rapidash is good but fragile. I think Flame Wheel is a good part of their moveset, despite the 90 base power (plus STAB).
Yeah, in the game the egg was given by Cynthia, but it felt a bit awkward to bring her back to the comic after just being there, so I left that bit un-drawn.
