Is this painting or mixed media? Put it on mixed, just in case.
First time I did a painting for myself. I have used our aquarell colors before, but always in paintings that are meaned to be sent to someone else or ones done in school without the freedom of doing "my stuff". Summer is inspiring time in my opinion, at least for me. I decided to paint some things that are important to me, because I was on a spiritual mood. I have always loved the moon, so I drew it the way I imagine it, in spiritual level. (there will be two paintings, this is the other, and the second one will be done soon. At least I hope it'll be soon...)
The Moon (or Kuu, as it is in Finnish).
This took me few days to finish, and at the painting state I occupied our kitchen's table completely. We have lots of painting and drawing equippment and all that stuff took alot of space. I love how the background turned out. ^^ Yet I almost managed to spoil the picture. At first I was meaned to draw long, black and feather-like mane to her flowing around her, but my dying drawing ink pens didn't agree with me about it and I had to remove them. Unfortunately I just realised that they had been permanent inks. Yay! So I borrowed my dad's white paint to get it hidden. It doesn't look too bad, does it? I think I managed to save it pretty well.
My blue-blind scanner didn't want to be co-operative, again, so her fur's shading isn't as good looking as it is IRL, but that's nothing new.
Aquarell colors, Derwent studio color pencils, drawing ink pens and pencils.
wow...even though you've heard it many times...this is beautiful!!!! i love how you mixed the drawing and the painting. The wolf is gorgeous, beautifully proportioned. oh and i love the concept of the lunar cycle around her (??) too!!! must +fav
I rather like the white paint in the background... it makes her look like she is radiating some kind of holy power... adds nicely to the piece The whispy blue mane is beautiful in the way it seems to magically flow around her. Emphasizing the full and new moon phases brings a sense of balance that I love and really makes the composition of the painting satisfying. The blue background bit is awesome Reminds me of marble... like magical temple walls or something along those lines...
Kaikki on taidettu jo sanoa: Kaunista! On myös mahtavaa, että jotkut todella saavat ideoita omista unistaan, pystyen ammentamaan niistä niinkin luovia. Omat uneni ovat lähinnä koomisia, joissa ei ole tietoakaan mistään taiteellisesta 8D
