this looks like gouache wash-off technique...if so I'd be interested to know where you found a brown ink that works with it...

Unfortunately it's all Photoshop. I'd love to do stuff with the wash-off technique too, but I don't know enough of inks.

it's actually not that difficult. If you have gouache paint and waterproof ink, I could explain it fairly easily and you could give it a try.
